How does functional diagnostic nutrition work?

There are many different aspects of gut health. Unlike others, Megaphone Functional Health’s holistic approach looks at everything and determines which areas to focus on for each individual’s needs. We look at the whole person and consider all aspects of your health together. You’ll learn about your gut, gut microbiota, the role of amino acids, healthy fats, and how chronic inflammation leads to issues, including how it affects mental health. Our coaching programs engage the whole person - mind, body, heart, and soul.

What is the gut

What is the gut exactly?

The gut makes up the entirety of our gastrointestinal tract. It includes our mouth, pharynx (throat), esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (also known as the colon), rectum, and anus. That's a long river with lots of parts! When everything is doing its job and functioning correctly, and we have a healthy gut, our overall health benefits significantly.

How your digestive system works

How your digestive system works.

Think of your digestive system as a long river with different twists and turns, fast and slow sections, and various debris at the river's end. The debris is the symptoms of leaky gut syndrome and all other gut issues.

We tend to fixate on the symptoms and look for some magic pill offered by conventional medicine to cure them. We need to travel upstream and take a good look at our digestive tract and gut lining to evaluate the underlying cause behind the symptoms. This is why Megaphone Functional Health’s unique approach to diagnostic nutrition looks at everything and everyone individually.
